Little Tokyo

LA is one of those cities that no matter how long you've been living here there's always new territory to discover. I set out to spend the afternoon at the Hello Kitty exhibit with my daughter but ended up seeing so much more! Little Tokyo has so much to uncover from murals to architecture, and store fronts full of knick- knacks. Is it any wonder that an outfit post was inspired?

Peter Pilotto for Target dress, Nine West booties 

There's something about New Years that just screams wear black! But if your feeling anything like me and are just too exhausted to think about being sexy or sophisticated throw on a dress with a pop of neon. The neon lends a fun touch to the black, not to mention the mix of patterns on this dress. Almost Famous

                    OUTFIT DETAILS: Joes Jeans, H&M top and TJMaxx long cardigan, Nine West booties

My first thought when I saw this draped over one of the racks in TJMaxx was "Penny Lane would love this"! If you have no clue who I'm referencing do yourself a favor and check out this trailer for Almost Famous - Kate Hudson's character is Penny Lane. There's a coat that appears over and over within the movie as a symbol of protection. While Penny Lane's story is tragic, wearing this near ankle grazing cardigan made me feel like I too had a little armor on. The swish in the bottom of the cardigan allows for easy movement for those don't bother me I mean business kind of days. Polka Dots & Cut Outs

Any top long enough to cover my butt has my vote of confidence! When work gets super hectic the last thing you want is to be adjusting your clothing every time you sit down, so this conservative at first glance blouse from Zara is perfect. Take that blazer off though and things get a little more sassy. I've always found showing a little skin on your back is far sexier than a ton of cleavage. What do you guys think of the cut out details?

Happy Monday! I hope you all enjoyed your weekends! I don't quite feel ready for it to be Monday so what better than to immerse myself in researching pretty jewels. It's a tough job but somebody has to do it! This week's pick is Francesca's - if you like what you see you better hurry because they have a Jewelry Bogo sale! Not a bad idea if you still need to buy some holiday gifts. Kate Spade: Jewels of the Week

Kate Spade always reminds me of parties and celebrations - everything is so sparkly! Pop into Nordstrom for some great Holiday accessories by Kate Spade or even a gift for that special someone ( they have some huge savings right now). My favorite is the Imperial hinge bangle. PINK

Hands down this is the most comfortable sweater I own. The softness of the sweater plus the length come together to make perfection. Add a statement necklace and all of a sudden you have a vamped up casual look. What's your favorite sweater?

Denim Mix

Try a little denim on denim with a twist - mix and match the colors. I've done the whole blue on blue so I wanted to try something a little different. Add a flowy cardigan to soften the structure of the denim and throw on a statement necklace to prevent from appearing to monochromatic.
