I've been gushing over the YSL tribute sandals all weekend and it hit me that for a woman our shoes can make or break our outfit, take it to the next level or make the entire evening miserable. The price tags are not very practical but it's Monday and Monday's are made for dreaming. Which one would you wear?

Pleats and Sequins

This is what I imagine Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz wearing if she time traveled to the present day. A long pleated skirt to keep it classy but paired with an attention grabbing crop top to bring out her edginess. Of course any modern day Dorothy would have to top the outfit off with sequined heels in case she needs to make a quick getaway. What do you think about the maxi skirt? Yay or nay for this season?

1 Vest, 3 Ways

The Holidays are a time for traveling, so when you're packing it's always good to use versatile pieces. I scored this Ann Taylor vest in their winter sale and can't stop wearing it! Here's just three ways out of the many that I have been styling it.

Polka Dots - Ladybug Style

I have to give credit to my daughter for finding this skirt. We were scouring the racks in H&M and I agreed to try it on more so to humor her than anything else - the length plus pleats had a princess appeal for her. I remember bursting into a fit of giggles with her in the dressing room as she asked me to twirl around and around until the skirt took on a life of its own. It was that moment I was sold! I guess the princess fantasy never really leaves...The built-in mini skirt underneath adds some edge to the overall look and the high waist finally allowed me to be a little adventurous and wear a cropped sweater. The polka dots give this outfit such a fun vibe!

Ladylike Leather

It's hump day which means a good number of you are dreaming about the weekend. Ladylike leather with a fresh hemline helps you get weekend chic ready. If you are not in Cali where the sun always shines you may want to wear knee- high boots instead of flats. Flat riding boots will maintain the casual vibe. Have a great day!

Pinstripes and Studs

Pinstripes upgrade every outfit! For another stylish business casual look, well and to not draw so much attention to ripped jeans (take note all those in fairly conservative office settings!) I went with a flirty pinstriped shirt and studded heels to balance the ensemble out. Check out the details on the shirt sleeves - love 'em!

Not your mum's Mary Janes!

I do believe I actually gasped when I saw these beautiful Mary Jane esque pumps by Tory Burch. The Imogene pump is made with calf hair and satin and showcases a dragonfly on a block heel. Little did I know that the dragonfly is a symbol of good luck, something I don't think would be necessary when wearing these heels. I do believe every bit of trash, slippery puddle or pothole would gladly jump out of the way for these museum worthy heels. 

Very Berry Summer with Dasani Drops

I'm all about having fun in the sun so in order to make the most out of my day I stay hydrated by drinking lot's of water. Let's face it day after day of only having water gets a little boring so adding Dasani drops throws some flavor into my routine. The combination of reds, blues and purples in the Mixed Berry Dasani inspired today's look. 

Peplum & Hudson's

For the film showing of the documentary; Girl Rising, I knew I wanted to wear this lace peplum top from Anthropologie. The structured femininity is reminiscent of the Victorian ages. To prevent myself from looking too formal I wore my Hudson jeans. There's something about denim that always makes me feel sexy and strong all at once.

Red, White & Blue

Homemade crown, Bombshell lip gloss in Hot Mess, Halogen scarf, H&M dress, Ariat boots

When I picked my son up from school yesterday he had made me a necklace in honor of the 4th of July. It wouldn't fit over my head so we had to settle on a headpiece which put the finishing touches on my outfit for today's celebrations. I'm not one to dress in full garb for any occasion. Some of my color choices are more subtle as in the red lips - makeup should be a part of your outfit too.
