Ice cream Sundays
OUTFIT: Wildfox sweater, Tobi dress, Rebecca Minkoff heels (TJMaxx)
Nothing screams Summer like ice cream and with Fall knocking on the door I'm not ready to let go just yet. Wildfox always has fun pieces to style and this in particular makes me smile every time I wear it. Layering a graphic tee/sweater over a LBD gives it a nonchalant vibe. Now I'm really craving a 99! (traditional English ice cream cone with a chocolate flake stuck in it) - What's your favorite ice cream?

Petits Fours
This is me doing my best "Boss Lady" impression. I had the most amazing opportunity to meet with the Chief of Staff for Congressman Schiff to discuss the ongoing persecution of Bahai's in Iran. I'm not able to share details about the meeting but am grateful that members of the community are open to hearing what is happening to the Bahai community. I hope to soon share a link on my blog that will allow you to learn more about the Bahai Faith as it is so dear to my heart.
I've had another busy week between work, meetings and apartment hunting. I mean seriously I forgot how hard it is to find a place that you can really call home, especially in Cali. Rental prices are astronomical and if you take one step to the East or the West depending on the city all of a sudden you end up in a really shady area. And I don't mean a street lined with lot's of trees! I hope all of you have an amazing weekend...if you miss me you can find me on Instagram @PolishedPractical_Style

Coachella Inspired
Let's face it, unless you work for a rockstar Coachella fashion is not exactly everyday attire. The relaxed, carefree vibe some of the outfits give off send me into my dream world though, so I decided to put a little Polished Practical spin on this weekends fashion and voila!
I would love to hear what you think...

Hot/Cold
Come on SoCal, all these bloody weather changes have my wardrobe set up in limbo. By now the winter clothes are usually packed tightly away in storage boxes but this week I find myself digging into the archives to grab a few warmer items. This faux vest is proving to be a major player in my wardrobe. Similar versions can be found here and here.

Black Blossoms
It may be Spring but all of a sudden there's a slight chill in the air - as my grandmother says; "Don't cast a clout till May is out". It's an old English saying that makes far more sense across the pond than it does in LA. Although the subtle pink blush of flowers across a sea of black is the right amount of Summer teasing.

Lace Finish
This dress may be last season but it speaks volumes to this Spring season of fashion. Vibrant florals partially hidden under black lace is a call to that wild girl hidden under all that femininity you possess. Ok so I may be describing myself slightly- but purely in a fashion sense! I adore girly clothes, but also enjoy bringing out a sassy flavor to my outfit. While this dress looks great with heels I'm feeling rather rebellious against being entirely put together. Hence the pointed toe flats - they give this a more relaxed vibe. Don't be scared to mix prints just keep the hues limited.
Happy Monday ladies!
xoxo

Pleats and Sequins
This is what I imagine Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz wearing if she time traveled to the present day. A long pleated skirt to keep it classy but paired with an attention grabbing crop top to bring out her edginess. Of course any modern day Dorothy would have to top the outfit off with sequined heels in case she needs to make a quick getaway.
What do you think about the maxi skirt? Yay or nay for this season?
