Priorities First

Let me start off by saying I'm so sorry for being MIA! Being a single parent and moving is not an easy task, my spare time is consumed with moving boxes and putting Ikea furniture together! Plus I still don't have internet connection yet so I have momentarily abandoned my blog for a handyman apprenticeship.  Ok so maybe I'm not that talented with a screwdriver and hammer but it's amazing what assembling a swedish bookcase will do to your ego. In regards to my outfit if you could call it that - what do you think? Too plain? Don't even try to diss the Birkenstocks! They are a saving grace of comfort whilst moving in warm California weather. Let me know what you think and I'll check back in with you in a week!

Express Yourself

When I have a lot on my mind I let my clothes do all the talking. How do you express yourself?

I'm yelling Timber!

I love singing along to the chorus of Kesha and Pitbull's song; I'm Yelling Timber. Somehow in my odd way of thinking I always connect the song to a lumberjack and my favorite pencil skirt. Not wanting the pattern of my skirt to be too reminiscent of said lumberjack I mixed it up with a Phillip Lim sweater.

Print Overload

You may have read that bloggers have a style of their own. A style that defies all fashion rules, mixes multiple prints and screams look at me. I don't think I've ever reached that level but this outfit post did make me think of bloggerstyle. I rather enjoyed mixing the prints together, not to mention rocking the Big Sexy hair, thanks to my favorite Big Sexy hair products. My top three are the volumizing shampoo and conditioner, and the soy renewal serum!

Phillip Lim and Me

Zara necklace, Phillip Lim for Target top, Halogen skirt and Michael Kors shoes

A woman's BFF when it comes to her wardrobe is a versatile piece. I'm excited about my new 3.1 Phillip Lim top, I can already see the possibilities! For now though LA is still in the 80's so no layering needed. I'm also getting good use out of this skirt, you can see how else I have styled it here in Leather and Lace.

If you got the same top I would love to hear how you are wearing it!

Happy Hump Day!

Phillip Lim for Target

My Phillip Lim Goodies!

Twitter was plagued with 3.1 Phillip Lim excitement and disappointment yesterday in response to his new collection for Target. Bold patterns and embellishments were everywhere, not to mention the satchels that were screaming "I'm here to stay" from their simple structures. I love fashion I really do - the creativity that fuels a great dress or top is so intriguing to me, BUT...- yes, I'm about to step on my soap box!...BUT...I cannot understand how grown women can fight over material goods. That's right I witnessed such antics yesterday. You won't catch me fighting over anything unless we are in the middle of a zombie apocalypse and I'm vying for the last bottle of water for my kids - even then I'll probably offer you some!
Ladies you don't need seven of the same purse, nor is it ethical to sell them at a higher price on eBay ( in my opinion of course).

Enjoy the new pieces you scored and for next time remember to leave the boxing gloves at home.

Have a great Monday!
xoxo
