February Ipsy

Who knew my enthusiasm would fade so quickly over a pink package. There was nothing exciting hidden within February's Ipsy glam bag.
Did anyone get anything different?
LASH CARD: If you end up with all your eyelashes clumped together every morning then this is probably not a bad idea to try out. I don't have this issue so I felt like it was a rather useless part of my glam bag this month.
PIXI Flawless & Poreless: This primer glides on smoothly with a slight hint of color for accurate precision.
MICA BEAUTY: Gel eyeliner can transform your entire look. This didn't come with a brush so a good recommendation is the fine liner brush by Jemma Kidd. It allows the gel to go on in a thin line giving you the option to add more definition.
COASTAL SCENTS Eyeshadow: Great travel size!

C&C Nails- Earl Grey Macarons

The richness of the green/blue and gold of these macaroons are absolutely breathtaking. They reminded me of luscious forests full of life. I instantly wanted to replicate its sweet beauty and what better way to do it than a fresh manicure in the same hues! Oh and by the way these Early Grey macaroons from  Bottega Louie tasted just as good as they looked.

The Nutcracker

Spending the weekend in Mammoth surrounded by snow covered mountains reminded me of the winter and a new tradition I started just this past December. I fell in love with The Nutcracker, a world renowned story performed by ballet companies around the world. The Nutcracker is based on the story of a young girl who dreams about a feud between her Nutcracker Prince and the Mouse King. I attended a performance by the Los Angeles ballet and could feel the dancers energy. They were able to build anticipation in the fight scene reflecting the nightmares of the young girl, Clara who deeply cares about her Nutcracker soldier. The enchantment of Clara's dream is returned in The Land of the Snow, a forest full of dancing snowflakes. This was one of the most aesthetically pleasing scenes of the entire ballet, I found myself perched on the edge of my seat not daring to miss one second of the dance for it's beauty was spell binding. Another captivating part of the Nutcracker are the dances given to Clara and the Prince by the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Land of Sweets. The strength and grace exhibited by the ballerina's in The Arabian dance fast made it my favorite out of the celebration dances. The dream ends and Clara finds herself peacefully with her Nutcracker, leaving the audience fulfilled.
I hope to make this an annual winter tradition with my daughter but for now I will enjoy the dancing snowflakes embracing me as I explore Mammoth village with my friends.

Urban Runner: my life saver

Have you ever wished you had an extra hand, a couple more hours in the day, a personal assistant? Let's face it there's not a busy man or woman out there that will deny ever wishing for a solution to the whirlwind of their day. Urban Runner came to my rescue on a chaotic Tuesday when I realized I had forgotten to pick up a gift for a dear coworker and friend. Urban Runner is a food delivery and concierge service that's at your beck and call 24/7. I was able to meet with the owner Greg who it made it feel less of a business transaction and more like a friend conveniently bringing you whatever you needed.
Let Urban Runner be your helping hand...

Petits fours

I love adventuring into new parts of town that are nothing out of the ordinary for the folks that live in the area but light years away from my own norms. Granted LA is only 20 minutes from my home it still ignites a curious energy within me.
I would love to hear if you have any recommendations of places for me to visit in the nearby area!

Pershing Square hosts an intimate ice skating rink
The architecture of the Walt Disney Hall is intriguing
A quaint little bookstore that had me ferreting around like an child in a candy store
The perfect cup of coffee from Bottega Louie to round off the day
