Ariats in the Fall

GAP jean jacket, H&M dress and Ariat boots. If you have been following me on Twitter @PolishdPrctical you will know that I've been craving the Fall weather, in part due to a craving to wear boots. The weather in Cali is gradually changing so I'm making a slow transition along with it. Don't hate me for saying this but I always feel like dancing to Footloose when I wear my cowgirl boots!

Ipsy- the September Issue

Classic Beauty is the theme of this month's Ipsy glam bag. I don't particularly like the make-up that was selected, it feels rather cheap, except for the eyeliner that although darker than my normal shades I enjoy the dramatic look it creates. The paper masks are so much fun! They smell good and are refreshing, I just didn't like looking like the killer from Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It says to leave them on for 5-10 minutes, I lasted four! The eye slits are rather narrow so it got a tad bit uncomfortable.

Phillip Lim and Me

A woman's BFF when it comes to her wardrobe is a versatile piece. I'm excited about my new 3.1 Phillip Lim top, I can already see the possibilities! For now though LA is still in the 80's so no layering needed. I'm also getting good use out of this skirt, you can see how else I have styled it here in Leather and Lace.

Phillip Lim for Target

My Phillip Lim Goodies!

Twitter was plagued with 3.1 Phillip Lim excitement and disappointment yesterday in response to his new collection for Target. Bold patterns and embellishments were everywhere, not to mention the satchels that were screaming "I'm here to stay" from their simple structures. I love fashion I really do - the creativity that fuels a great dress or top is so intriguing to me, BUT...- yes, I'm about to step on my soap box!...BUT...I cannot understand how grown women can fight over material goods. That's right I witnessed such antics yesterday. You won't catch me fighting over anything unless we are in the middle of a zombie apocalypse and I'm vying for the last bottle of water for my kids - even then I'll probably offer you some! 

Ladies you don't need seven of the same purse, nor is it ethical to sell them at a higher price on eBay ( in my opinion of course). 

Enjoy the new pieces you scored and for next time remember to leave the boxing gloves at home.

Pinstripes and Studs

Pinstripes upgrade every outfit! For another stylish business casual look, well and to not draw so much attention to ripped jeans (take note all those in fairly conservative office settings!) I went with a flirty pinstriped shirt and studded heels to balance the ensemble out. Check out the details on the shirt sleeves - love 'em!

My style changes from day to day with my mood and I love adding sparkles to everything. I also have to dress in business casual attire at the office so adding a little glam with this Lorraine Tyne jewelry set keeps everyone happy. I'm pretty much in love with the mix of studs and crystals on the necklace - a creative balance of edgy and feminine.
