Pleats and Sequins
This is what I imagine Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz wearing if she time traveled to the present day. A long pleated skirt to keep it classy but paired with an attention grabbing crop top to bring out her edginess. Of course any modern day Dorothy would have to top the outfit off with sequined heels in case she needs to make a quick getaway.
What do you think about the maxi skirt? Yay or nay for this season?

Into the Blue
As much as I love winter fashion there's something so freeing about the simplicity of a shift dress. It's an easy go to especially now while LA is being blessed with gorgeous sunny days. If you have evening plans just throw on some black tights (Spanx are my fab new find) and the dress transitions easily to an evening ensemble.
Happy Monday!

Polka Dots - Ladybug Style
I have to give credit to my daughter for finding this skirt. We were scouring the racks in H&M and I agreed to try it on more so to humor her than anything else - the length plus pleats had a princess appeal for her. I remember bursting into a fit of giggles with her in the dressing room as she asked me to twirl around and around until the skirt took on a life of its own. It was that moment I was sold! I guess the princess fantasy never really leaves...The built-in mini skirt underneath adds some edge to the overall look and the high waist finally allowed me to be a little adventurous and wear a cropped sweater. The polka dots give this outfit such a fun vibe!

Dark Days
Sleek leather leggings will take your look from day to night. Even with a flannel and vest the faux leather gives off a luxe vibe. I hope today is a great start to your week!

Pleat Me
The easy movement of this dress makes me feel like I'm flirting with my surroundings! The wider pleats lend a sophistication but the details of the belt make a subtle statement. The chunky heel of my favorite Rag and Bone booties brings enough edge to balance out the softness of the dress.

I'm yelling Timber!
I love singing along to the chorus of Kesha and Pitbull's song; I'm Yelling Timber. Somehow in my odd way of thinking I always connect the song to a lumberjack and my favorite pencil skirt. Not wanting the pattern of my skirt to be too reminiscent of said lumberjack I mixed it up with a Phillip Lim sweater.

On Monday's I Don't Care
On Monday's I usually try to channel the Brady Bunch and be extra chirpy, but sometimes this is just too much work. With that said I'm claiming this as my 'I don't care' outfit - checkers and leopard, enough said!

Guess Who's Back?!
I've been going through a phase where although I still want to dress girly I also have this desire to be carefree and slouchy. Any shrink might say it's just an excuse to wear flannel once again - I can't help it...I'm obsessed!
Tell me the truth - yay or nay to polka dots and flannel?

Print Overload
You may have read that bloggers have a style of their own. A style that defies all fashion rules, mixes multiple prints and screams look at me. I don't think I've ever reached that level but this outfit post did make me think of bloggerstyle. I rather enjoyed mixing the prints together, not to mention rocking the Big Sexy hair, thanks to my favorite Big Sexy hair products. My top three are the volumizing shampoo and conditioner, and the soy renewal serum!
OUTFIT: Phillip Lim for Target sweater, H&M trousers, Aldo shoes. Fab hair C/O of Big Sexy Hair

Phillip Lim and Me
Zara necklace, Phillip Lim for Target top, Halogen skirt and Michael Kors shoes
A woman's BFF when it comes to her wardrobe is a versatile piece. I'm excited about my new 3.1 Phillip Lim top, I can already see the possibilities! For now though LA is still in the 80's so no layering needed. I'm also getting good use out of this skirt, you can see how else I have styled it here in Leather and Lace.
If you got the same top I would love to hear how you are wearing it!
Happy Hump Day!

A chunky cardie for the chilly mornings is useful - I have not been invaded by aliens, those are my daughters hands wrapped around me. Photo courtesy of my son, he couldn't quite get my head in the shot!

Pinstripes and Studs
Marks n Spencer shirt, Kut from the Kloth boyfriend jeans and Aldo heels
Pinstripes upgrade every outfit! For another stylish business casual look, well and to not draw so much attention to ripped jeans (take note all those in fairly conservative office settings!) I went with a flirty pinstriped shirt and studded heels to balance the ensemble out. Check out the details on the shirt sleeves - love 'em!
