I absolutely love leather jackets, they are the ultimate investment piece. I bought my first one from Bebe as a gift to myself after having my second child ( ok so it was the only way I could justify spending $350 on myself, pretty sound argument if you ask me)! I fell in love with this leather number because the hood gives it such a casual cool vibe and any shade of green works well for a red head. How do you wear your leather?

There's something about New Years that just screams wear black! But if your feeling anything like me and are just too exhausted to think about being sexy or sophisticated throw on a dress with a pop of neon. The neon lends a fun touch to the black, not to mention the mix of patterns on this dress. This is my last Jewels of the week post of 2014!! Ok it's really not a big deal seeing as I'll just be back to posting next Monday, being a tad bit dramatic over here, it's Monday after all. You don't want to ring in the new year on broke status so I've featured Forever 21 for this week's jewels. There's a little retro for all you ladies that like to get down to Uptown Funk ( admittedly on replay for me), a tribal-inspired cuff and necklace set that takes all the work out of accessorizing. Almost Famous

                    OUTFIT DETAILS: Joes Jeans, H&M top and TJMaxx long cardigan, Nine West booties

My first thought when I saw this draped over one of the racks in TJMaxx was "Penny Lane would love this"! If you have no clue who I'm referencing do yourself a favor and check out this trailer for Almost Famous - Kate Hudson's character is Penny Lane. There's a coat that appears over and over within the movie as a symbol of protection. While Penny Lane's story is tragic, wearing this near ankle grazing cardigan made me feel like I too had a little armor on. The swish in the bottom of the cardigan allows for easy movement for those don't bother me I mean business kind of days. Any top long enough to cover my butt has my vote of confidence! When work gets super hectic the last thing you want is to be adjusting your clothing every time you sit down, so this conservative at first glance blouse from Zara is perfect. Take that blazer off though and things get a little more sassy. I've always found showing a little skin on your back is far sexier than a ton of cleavage. Kate Spade always reminds me of parties and celebrations - everything is so sparkly! PINK

Hands down this is the most comfortable sweater I own. The softness of the sweater plus the length come together to make perfection. Add a statement necklace and all of a sudden you have a vamped up casual look. What's your favorite sweater?

Denim Mix

Try a little denim on denim with a twist - mix and match the colors. I've done the whole blue on blue so I wanted to try something a little different. Add a flowy cardigan to soften the structure of the denim and throw on a statement necklace to prevent from appearing to monochromatic.

Petit fours

Late night coffee with a dear friend dipped in words of encouragement are a definite highlight of the week. It's nice to get out and try the freshest coffee bar or fancy restaurant but honestly folding laundry and putting the Keurig to work has been just what this week has desperately needed.
