Weekend Away Essentials

I'm very excited to being going away for the weekend to a conference but every time I attempt to start packing I stand there like a headless chicken! It can be overwhelming figuring out what to pack.
Here's a list of the essentials for going away. Use this to get your packing started!

Mac Pro laptop, Polaroid camera, prayer book, notebook, DVD and thank you cards

My laptop and notebook are obvious essentials but everything else are personal wants that I have. Let's face it having a Polaroid camera is fun, fun, fun! Saying prayers is a good way to start and end your day( I particularly love the prayer book shown above because it is an entire collection of prayers for women). It's complicated is a hilarious movie that I like to watch to relax so I'm taking it along in case I have some down time. Take some thank you cards with you as you never know who you might cross paths with and learn something from. It's important to show others your appreciation.
Levi's jeans, Bebe coat, Halogen pashmina

Black jeans look good in the day with a tailored jacket and at night with heels. Versatility in the items you pack is a must! This trench looks great with jeans as well as dresses-it pulls the whole outfit together. Pashminas look beautiful and keep you warm simultaneously.

For your toiletries use miniature versions of your usual products. Department stores have bonus offers on brands such as Clinique and Lancome. If you already use some of their products its good to buy something during the promotions as you will get a free makeup bag with minis of their top buys. You can always go to Target as well- it has a whole section dedicated to travel size containers.

                                                 Nike running shoes

Taking your running shoes along for a trip is a great way to exercise and explore a new city. Ask the hotel concierge to help you map out a safe route. If the weather doesn't permit this then you can always just go to the hotel gym(see no excuses)!

If you have any other tips for packing for a weekend getaway I would love to hear them.

  6. Today, I went to the beach front with my kids. I found
a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and
said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear."
She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
